  3. Be certain to read carefully the Online Application Instructions before beginning the process. There are specific items of information you must have in hand, including the name and email address of your child’s music teacher among others.
  4. The beginning of the application process in 2017 brought 1,400 online application on the first day, causing computer server outages, so we are spreading out the process this year.
  5. You may not, for example, make application for a music camp Band on February 5th, so do not bother trying until the appropriate day.
  6. Please do not apply for two weeks of camp as a way of increasing your chances of “getting in.” This will have no effect on being accepted.  If your week has filled when your application is processed, we will contact you if there is a space available in the other week.

The UNCG Summer Music Camp application process is entirely ONLINE! Parents must make the online application for their child.  You must utilize a laptop computer or a desktop computer.  Your tablet or smart phone will not work for the application process!  Allow two weeks for the processing of your online application.  After your application is accepted, you will also be able to pay your $50 deposit online using a Visa or MasterCard over a secure payment portal. Apply Early!

The UNCG Summer Music Camp fills very quickly. While there is not a deadline for applications, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible, especially if you play a popular instrument such as flute, trumpet, saxophone or violin.  We will receive 2,000 or more applications in the month of February alone and the waiting list for many instruments begins in early to mid-February! You must apply in early February or risk being on the waiting list.  We are so popular that we routinely have as many as 1,000 music camp applicants on various waiting lists.

What happens next?

After your online application has been received electronically, the Music Camp Office will review the application within two weeks to and email the parent with one of three possible outcomes:  ACCEPTED, WAIT LIST or ON HOLD.  In all cases, the parent will receive word from the Music Camp via email.

Once ACCEPTED, the parent must pay the $50 Summer Music Camp deposit, either online through a secure portal using a Visa or MasterCard or by mailing a personal check.  Parents of accepted students will also receive a PDF attachment to their email containing preliminary information on what to bring, when & where to report, etc.

Full payment of your Summer Music Camp tuition will be due on June 1, 2017. Around mid-June, accepted students will receive a packet of detailed information including information about check-in day, a list of what to bring, a medical history/treatment permission form, a campus map, driving directions, and all of the information needed to plan your successful trip to music camp at UNCG.
