A WORD ABOUT THE MUSIC CAMP STAFF
for POTENTIAL APPLICANTS

Anyone is welcome to apply for the UNCG Summer Music Camp Staff. We do hire many UNCG Music Majors because our School is very large (600 music majors) and because we know these students very well.

We do receive applications from "all over" and anyone is most welcome to apply.

We start by hiring current successful teachers, then graduate students (MM and Doctoral), then seniors, then juniors, then sophomores, then freshman students.  Sometimes we need current freshman and sometimes we don't. A person’s specialty, what instrument they play or voice type, is also a part of the hiring decision as we have many sectional rehearsals to cover.

100% of the UNCG Summer Music Camp Staff are career musicians: music teachers, artist-performers, and those pursuing music degrees from the bachelors degree through the doctorate. And, we have a large number of returning staff members each summer including some who have been a part of the camp for twenty or more years. Because of that, we only need a relatively small number of new employees each summer.

In all, we hire about 150 staff members including the conductors, counselors and support staff.
